Default Hondata tuners please help: loss of power/hesitation @ vtec engagement

I have recently installed my s100w/ boost. my vtec is set to 5000rpms (type r cams) When vtec comes on under boost, I experience a drastic loss of power along with hesitation although air fuels stay between 11.5 and 12.5. It seems worst in first gear. Anyone have this problem?

search "hesitation" in this forum, tons of threads on it.

and yes ppl have been having problems.

also check the hondata message board. there are some solutions.
http://www.hondata.com

just read a new thread on where hondata solved it for one guy and it was due to problems not related to hondata, faulty wiring, temp sensors, etc..

It really depends on your motor setup, how much boost you're running, etc. but on an FI motor sometimes having the VTEC too high will make it take a dump in power... If you're set too high and you drop it down most of the time it'll broaden your powerband slightly... Typically we set it to x-over anywhere from 4000-4800rpm depending on the setup... Just my $0.02, Good Luck

It's your Hondata.

BTW - Get rid of the R cams on your boosted application.

What the hell do you mean the debate will never end.
Talk to any reputable tuner and see what they prefer.
ITR's have more overlap for N/A applications.....why the hell do you want that on your turbo motor?
Maybe the debate will never end where your at, but I thinks its been pretty much settled here for years.

Second, the Hondata issue.....read the ******* links I posted.
2b & 3b users dont have the problems that the S100 and S200 users are having.

btw- how does you timing map look like? Your are right in the the center of the cross over from low speed and high speed.

Take a closer look at your timing map. Most timing maps should be linear with a upward movement.

change your vtec engagement maybe? I believe the generally selections are 4200 on a D series and 4800 on a B series. Try it out, it might work for ya. Otherwise it could be vaccum map problems.

Better yet, why dont you show me.
I am interested in seeing dyno charts with strictly cam comparison on a boosted motor.

i believe we made about 20-30 more hp with the type r cams on my gsr motor. All i have is my current dyno sheet though, so i can't show the difference.
