ok... ive been attempting to work with TWO NY dealers. both suck.

quick scenario: go to first dealer, no movement on price or nuttin. 6.99 finance rate (not great but ok for acura standards) but the guy was a shmuck, pricing for options was very high. (club rsx has great prices, he wouldnt even come near em)

so, no biggie, i just didnt wanna settle with mediocracy.

dealer #2 calls me up, really wants me to buy car. i humor them, go to meet em. tell em the story, if they can do better than 6.99, and some other incentives, ill buy from them. guy says ok, 6.75% if you buy spoiler from me, and ill throw in wheel locks. wants 785 for spoiler. im like, ok, lemme think about it. go home to my calculator, and see he is saving me a total of $200 on rate over 60 mos, and charges me around $400 over msrp for spoiler! (actually charged me more for spoiler than spoiler AND wheel locks from 1st dealer).. im so mad right now. what a damn scam.

im seriously considering buying one from a dealer in toronto, hung with a guy up there this w/e... great guy, knows his stuff, and no BS. go figure.

what is going on with acura sales policy lately? its gotten real bad IMO. after my purchase, american honda is getting a very long letter...

bottom line - does anyone or has anyone imported a new car from canada? would it be painfully hard?

No bigger bunch of ****** has ever been assembled to work in car dealerships, than the ******* that work at Curry, AOW, etc. These guys gouge prices on everything and smile in your face as they try to **** you. When I bought my '00 ITR, I had some serious leverage since I had bought a '98 ITR and a '96 GSR from the same dealer in the past.

But the only way I was able to get the car (w/mats) at sticker. Was being rude, walking out twice on the salesmane. And finally having him call my house and beg me to come buy the car. After insulting the salesman and manager to their faces. I finally had my FBP ITR. Dealing with "in demand" car dealers in the NY area is worse than getting your wisdom teeth pulled.

good guess. (well, not really, pretty obvious i think) i was so mad last nite, first thing i did this morning is call up curry to tell the guy off, and today is his day off. how convenient.

times are slow for them too, curry only has like 4 deliveries of new cars to customers this week. (info hangs on the board in someones office, so i looked)

well, thx for the company, but i need help here! lol.. anyone deal with acura on northern blvd or in NJ?

this sucks.

o- and yes, ive bought from AOW before. didnt seem to matter to them.

When I was dealing with AOW, they were pretty cool with me. I obviously didn't go with the rsx for theft reasons. Try Bedford Acura, they are pretty knowledgeable and one of the guys owns a type r.

 

I bought my '01 ITR from Curry. I got a "reasonable" price for the car... slightly above sticker. The saleman sucked, but oh well... that's how they are.

After they "dissed" me i lost respect for them. Not to mention they dont have a real demo car..and they BEAT THE HELL out of cars they take out to test drive, i have seen them do it with my own eyes twice....and my friend went to test drive the rsx-s and the dealer took him out and beat the crap out of it. with 10 miles on the odo....
