Default Insurance for LS over GSR?

I have a 94 GSR and the insurance is WAY too much for me to afford now after getting 4 pts. I was wondering if it would be much different if I ggot a 94 LS ? Can you guys help me out? Let me know how much of a difference should be expected. Thanks

Really depends on insurance company.

Some treat all 2dr tegs about the same.
Some treat RS/LS/GS the same and treat GSR/ITR the same.
Some have totally different rates for each type of car, color, etc.
Some really rape people for ITR insurance.

This is all determined by their target market they serve.

I know this because my bro is a broker for over a hundred ins companies.

call your insurance company...i am sure they will let you know. You also can get free quotes on the internet from http://www.geico.com and http://www.progressive.com that way you can fool around with everything and not have to talk to anyone. I know on progressive you can change the deductables and coverages as much as you like and see the impact it has on price. IMO, if you already have a GSR it is going to be just as expensive to buy a new (different) car as it is to find a better insurance or pay a higher premium. Just raise your deductable. Mine is at $500 which sucks cause I got rear-ended in a parking lot and will have to pay a $500 deductable as opposed to a $100 or $250 to get it fixed, but the monthly savings are enough to make it worth it.

I was paying 3 grand a year to insure my old GSR. I knew a girl who had the same year car but it was an RS and paid 1400 dollars a year. Most insurance companies in New Jersey consider a GSR a high performance car.

Girls get much lower insurance than males. I know the SE models are almost as much as a gsr's insurance. The don't care about the extra 30 ponies they just care about how often it gets stolen.

My 96 LS 4 door that was stolen cost me 1100 per year. My 99 GSR that replaced it is costing 1400. I am 27 with no points right now

Yep, I have AIG, and they consider all 2 door coupe Integras the same. GSR, ITR, and LS all have the same rates. And they are sports car rates too. Dammit. Oh well.

I thought only GSR's and ITR's were considered sports cars? LS's are included?

my insurance company rapes me for 4700 a year with only 1 accident. they all tell me the same ****, its the car, its the car. ive called every place in north jersey and by far i have the cheapest rate with colonial penn. i have 500 deductibles and have 2001 gsr. the ITR would have been around 5100. i want to throw up every time i pay this ******* bill. insurance companies combine all factors especially age , location and type of car. ive had quotes from get this 5500-8000 ****** dollars!!!! are u kidding me!!!

Like I stated on my first post. It really depends on the insurance company. I've seen my brother's database on how rates pop up on the bottom of the screen, some companies categorize tegs as one, and some are just different.

You should try wawaneesa. They have reasonable rates. They only allow one point on your license though. ****, if my insurance was 5k-8k I would build a hybrid with a cx or something.
