I have 92 civic cx hatchback and I'm getting ready to swap in a 98 civic "d16y8" engine. I know it bolts in and vtec has to be hookeded up but is there anything else I need to do. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

1) Will my cx engine harness work?
2) Can I use the axles and shift linkage from the 98?
3) Do I need any type of ecu jumper harness?
4) Is there any other wires that need hooked up to the ecu besides vtec?

 

1.I don't know. Probobally not seeing as you are going from OBD1 to OBD2 (unless you want to do quite a bit of rewiring.
2.Yes
3. Yes, you can make your own.
4. All of the associated OBD2 sensors. EX: Secondary 02 and such.

 

Please get more specific on the extra sensors and such.

Anyone else have some info on this...most importantly the engine harness
