ZC tranny swap question.
I'm swapping in a ZC tranny. I know I need the axles, half shaft and ZC tranny bolts are nice to have. Do I need a new clutch to match the spline on the new axles? If so, what do you recomend. Daily driver, no forced induction, driven hard 25% of the time, thanks.
well you need to see if you have a 1988 tranny or not. Its the oly oddball. I recommend a clutch, pilot bearing and throwout bearing when you are in there. Pulling a tranny is suck a royal pain why do it twice.
Get the clutch kit for the Civic/CRX Si that is the same year as that tranny. 88 had a 21 spline imput shaft and 89-91 had 20 splines. Axles doesn't matter, 90-93 Integra axles should all be the same.
the year of the ZC tranny is what matters. count the splines on the input shaft if they are the same as your Si you are in business. 1988 was a weird year on ALL EF trannies. 89-91 EF have the same input shaft, 88 was different.
