Probably due to the cooler weather we are having now. Throw some cams, higher compression and headwork and a vafc , and you'll have a 12 sec car all day.

Nice 1/4 mile time...but the 60 foot is horrible for using slicks.

You should easily run a 1.90 60 FT and then you'd probably be in the 13.5-13.6 range.

It was hovering around the 50 degree mark over the weekeend, good runs regardless

i haven't seen anyone get anything much lower than a 2.00 (me included) with 15" slicks. 13's yes, even 14's, but not 15's. i have the same wheels with 22x8x15 m/t's (i assume the same tire also) i think it has something to do with the low profile of the slick. it doesn't alow us to lower tire pressure too much. i personally got my best runs with 12psi vs anything lower.

Hmm...I dont think it does have to do with the small sidewall of the slick..because I used a 20x14x6 sicks..which has a smaller sidewall then the 22x15x8.
I pulled a 1.90 60 ft and a friend of mine using teh same slicks pulled a 1.87 in his SI.

60ft time and slicks...bad launch at 6000rpm, came back to around 4700rpm...1.99 60 ft time, 23X7.5X15 M&H still looked new, unfortunately I only had one run so I have no way of knowing if I could have improved the launch.

Austin: That does seem like a bad launch..Im guessing the slicks wernt nearly warmed up enough or the pressure was too high. The RPMs shouldnt drop back down when launching with slicks.

My best 60 ft was dropping the clutch at 4900 and it caught and just climbed from there on up.

Nice job

In my prelude, I get 1.9's and even a rare 1.88 on the MT 22x8x15's @ 11-12lbs dropping at 6k-6200rpms. 2 different beasts though....

excellent time for the few mods that you have. Is that w/ full interior or stripped? With a better launch you basically have a mid 13 sec car w/ just I/H/E which is rare for a Type R.

Thanks, I have full interior and spare. The only thing I do that is related to weight reduction is make sure I only have about an 1/8 tank of gas. As for launching I don't think I can do much better with the stock clutch.

The slicks should have been pretty warm...I did a nice burnout until the tires grabbed and pulled my rear end into and through the box But the tires were HUGE...the same ones that RBoosted717 used 23 X 7.5 X 15, and he had a 2.005, 2.283, and a 2.085, and he had a lot more power than I do. The power dropped due to too much traction and not enough power...wish I would of had a second attempt...would have triend around 6500rpm...I'll try again, but I'll be stuck with my drag radials next time.

Great run! Would you mind posting an image of your timeslip? That's some good bragging material there.
