measurements of crx
I was wondering if anyone knows how close the measurements are inside the bottom part of an 88-91 crx and what they are of a 85-87 crx. I was wondering this because i want to by some side skirts for my 86 but the ones they make are really horrible looking. If the measurements are even remotely close let me know. I got a buddy who can custom fit and mold stuff if they are fairly close please let me know. Would appreciate it thanks.
If you are referring to the dimensions of the car itself (chassis), then yes the figures are the same from '88 to '91 (with a small difference in the width, about 10mm). However, these figures are a bit different from that of the '85 model, and of course the mounting points and general shape of the cars are totally different.
Seems like you will end up with a rather horrible looking car if you try to custom-fit an aftermarket chassis part for the '88 to a '85 model....

How do you figure it will look horrible if it is cut and shaped to fit. DONE CUSTOM. The side skirts would be molded all i wanted to know is how different are they, maybe were will they come close and were are the points that will be tottally off. I am just trying to do something diff. I have a b16 with hasport mounts in the 86 already with front and rear mugen replica bumpers they just don't make **** for side skirts.
Like I said, the differences between the various models during '88-'92 are very small, around 10mm or so in the overall width, length etc...
However, the differences with the '85-'88 model are a bit bigger, but not something huge. Just look at the respective Civics, and you'll see the exact same differences.
In any case, if this is going to be a custom job, then you could probably fit whatever you want, as long as its made for *any* CRX (apart from the DelSol). But, IMHO, no matter how good your buddie is, you will end up with a less than perfect looking car at the end, if the part wasnt manufactured for your specific model...
