14mm hex key other than $nap on?
I drove all over the place today looking for a 14mm hex key or hex socket and found nothing. Sears, Pep Boys, Advance Auto Parts, etc. I searched the archives here and found someone who bought one from Snap On, but it costs $20.70. Is there another place that might have one for a reasonable price?
more like snap-off tools to me. Most people i know break snapon tools while my autozone great neck ones never do (and if they do just takem back!) anyway...
$4.99 http://www.toolking.com/shop/view.asp?ID=5814]
$6.00 http://www.automotiveparts-acc...t+Skt
that what you're lookin for?

Thank you so much for searching for me. I really appreciate it. That's exactly what I'm looking for, but unfortunately, the first link is sold out, and the second link is $14.5 + shipping:

However, I've been searching for what seems like hours. Most of the links I come up with are in the UK for some reason, but Stanley Proto makes a 14mm hex wrench. I clicked on a "where to buy" link and found a list of places. W.W. Grainger is the closest to me, they have a website and sell other brands as well:

This "L" shaped key made by Allen Hand Tools is only $5.11! They also have a longer version for about $1 more, but I was thinking about cutting a short section off and pressing it into a 14mm socket that I already have. Voila! Instant socketed hex key for $5! What do you think?

Thanks Kwuaymaikrup, I'm writing and watching tv at the same time and didn't see your post. Anyway, I'll let you guys know tomorrow if I'm successful.
Damn, as soon as I finish typing, another post arrives! Wal Mart would be great, but are you sure they have 14mm? It's pretty rare. Craftsman doesn't even sell them.

Have you tried using a bolt's head?
That's how I got a couple of plugs out before (not 14mm).
Find a big metric bolt and then bend it and use it like an allen wrench. Worked like a charm for me.

I tried that first but those bitches were in there.

I haven't tried anything yet. I just like to be prepared, but if I didn't find the proper tool, my next step would be something like you mentioned. Someone suggested using a 14mm bolt with 2 nuts screwed in tight, then back off the nut closest to the bolt head.
Well.. I had a friend of mine that works at a dealership pick one up for me from the Matco man. Was like $8.xx, was surprised how cheap it was. Good luck.

Sears has then ( Craftsman) , look for a 9/16" which is very close to 14mm and easier to find. I think mine was $6. Make sure you get one with a 1/2" drive, sometimes they are stupid tight.
I bought a 14mm bolt with 3 nuts, tried to take the plug out that way and snapped the end of my wrench off hehe............ I'm going to have a local mechanic take them bitches out.
I just bought one today at Graingers for $5. I wish I had known about Wal Scam. Oh well! I did check Sears, and they had strange sizes that skipped from about 12 to 17, and there were no empty hangers either. It was strange, and the people who work there are useless! I tried to buy a compression tester from them once and this middle aged guy who seemed like he should know what he was talking about had no idea, then suggested that I go over to the automotive section where they sell tires and do alignments. Classic.
I've been looking for one for the last couple of days too... I just hate using an allen wrench and a breaker bar... After looking for a Craftsman one forever (their highest is 10mm) I'm just ordering a Snap On... Everything else just looks cheap... Oh well, I'm **** about **** like this
We didn't have one at Jotech, so I made one. Take a 14mm bolt, thread a nut on it, weld the nut to the bolt where they meet, and you have a tool. It's 14mm on each side. Stick one side in the plug and one side in a 14mm socket.
