Default still misfiring!!!

Ok recently i was driving and noticed one of my cylinders was misfiring... this car was my dads and has about 190k miles on it and it has probably only had one tune up. So i took it upon myself to go buy the car some new plugs (went with bosch platinum) also a new rotor and a new cap. I figured this would fix my problems with the misfiring and when i took it out after everything was installed it still misfired. The only thing i have yet to replace is the plug wires. Are those that big of a deal that it would still cause the cylinder to miss? I am kind of hesitant to go spend $50 on some wires if my car will still misfire with new ones. Any one have suggestions.???

yes wires go bad. try a simple test before you go buy, switch the plug wire with one of the others and see if miss jumps cylinders. if so you just found out its not firing. also you could just take your volt ohm meter and check resistance of wire.

Don't use bosch platinums either. My accord had a misfire while my brother was borrowing it last year. He didn't know whether plugs or wires were at fault, so he replaced both. Wires had a lifetime warranty, so no big deal, but he bought the Bosch plugs even though I told him to get the NGK coppers for less than half the price. Needless to say, the misfire got better, but didn't go away. He took the Bosch's back to Autozone for a refund and got the NGKs. Misfire disappeared, haven't had a problem since. The car has 247k on it.

well i think what i will do is check the wires to see if they are bad. I'm not exactly sure which cylinder is missing but the car is jumpy and i lose power when i'm full throttle in second through fifth gear. 5th gear is the worst i cant accelerate at all. Once i get into v-tec in second gear it goes away but right when i shift to third it comes back again. If i replace the wires and still have this problem i am gonna do what you suggested and get NGK sparks. If that doesnt work any other ideas??

if new wires dont fix it, it could be a couple of problems. compression, sticking injectors, wiring, internal motor-start with the cheap stuff if you don't know how to check these items or know some one who does. good luck
