Default The Newbie Spring Rate Calculator, your answers INSIDE!

SEARCH! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Your newbie and ignorant question asking "whats the best" for blah blah blah and a "little hard driving" is not something we answer here for you in Road Race/Autocross forum. THIS IS NOT A SUSPENSION FORUM! YES, we talk about spring rates from time to time, therefore, SEARCH!

A good place to start is the sticky at the top of the forum titled "..::;|| Road Racing/Autocross FAQ (New Members Read Before Posting ||::.. " In it is also my coilover FAQ which discusses various baseline rates also. Theres also a lot of threads on this specific topic.

The "proper" (not "best") spring rate for you and your application or delusions of being a hardcore racer are only going to decided by YOU, and you alone! So stop asking this goddam question here.

Spring rates, JDM coilovers, LSD's, Rollcages and harnesses and 15x7" wheels with Azenis are NOT what make anyone go fast, its the DRIVER that makes a car go fast. The proper gear only makes the driver faster. Before building the car, one must build the driver first!

Well.. if we can't discuss any of that then there's nothing to talk about... The WHOLE honda-tech will just general discussion since nobody is allow to post something that could found in a search..... Since mostly everything can be found in a search.

(I'm just playing devils advocate, I agree with searching)

(more advocate): <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Spring rates, JDM coilovers, LSD's, Rollcages and harnesses and 15x7" wheels with Azenis are NOT what make anyone go fast, its the DRIVER that makes a car go fast. The proper gear only makes the driver faster. Before building the car, one must build the driver first!</TD></TR></TABLE>

Wouldn't azenis be more "Proper" on 15x7's instead of 15x6's?? Wouldn't an LSD allow a "DRIVER" to be faster?

(I'm just offering alternate points of view)

Should we search more and more and talk and discuss less and less..

Or is the lack of searching flooding out the new ideas and more complex discussions?

I`ll kill two birds with one stone:

JDM Coilovers and Spring Rates- It doesn`t matter what rates you choose, the springs are usually awful

Care to explain? Or, is this just tounge in cheek? (Not having noticed your obvious bias...?)

I`ve tested most of the "jdm" coilovers in house, which is how I came to this conclusion. I will not name any names, but the shocks are usually halfway decent and the springs are almost always poor. There are a few exceptions.

I`m not at work after 4:30pm, so you`re just getting my personal opinion based upon the data and results I`ve seen.

Well i'm looking for some really dope suspension, that i'll never really use but i want all my friends to think i'm cool. But just so i don't get flamed, i'll add in how i'm going to do an autox or hpde or something else that i'm never going to try because real racers know it's all about the str33ts! So my question is, why do the sp00n c0ilov3rs have higher spring rates in the front?

For the same reason that toilet water flows the opposite direction in Australia I would imagine. Japan is far away. Duh.

asking someone what "teh best" springrate to run in your car is like asking them to tell you what your favorite food should be.

Yeah, it really sucks to scroll down past ALL those (4 or 5 a day even!) ignorant posts by racer wannabe's. Man, I'm surprised we don't have carple tunnel by now! Sometimes there are more than 20 topics on this forum in a whole day! It's such a PITA to scroll down through useless topics by ignorant noobs to find the good stuff like "my favorite movie", or "he/she said at the HPDE"...

It's much more useful and generally gratifying to insult these foolish kids, then lock the thread. How else are they going to learn that our **** doesn't stink?
