you may want to wander over to the civic forum. since the EL is a civic.

otherwise, its quite simple.

get under the dash, and behind the radio are two screws holding it in to a bracket. undo those and then pull the radio out. just unplug the harness and antenna.
then plug in your new radio(assuming it is the same harness, if its an aftermarket radio, get a harness adaptor) and push back in, and put the screws back in.

note: the easiest way to pull the radio out is by gripping it from the tape deck and the little tray underneath. should slide very easily.

maybe a 10 minute job.

i bought a pioneer deh-p7600 do i need a harness? thanks alot for your help

 

you have to get on your back and look under the dash, where the radio is. you'll see the back of the deck and there are two screws holding it into a brace. just undo those.

you can get an adaptor or try and do wire by wire match-up. you can find the adaptors on ebay or go to a stereo shop and ask for a 99+honda to pioneer adaptor.
