Exactly ...the RG's are too heavy ..and too expensive for cast wheels .....
If your about performance ......then stick with some lightweight 16x7's or 16x7.5's ..
but if your about looks ....then get 17's ...it doesnt matter what kind ...

Advan RG
16x7 (oem size)
12.9 lbs (cast)
Compared to 16x7
Racing Hart CP-035R
Mugen MF10
SSR Type C (Competitions)
Buddy Club P1
Volk TE37
Desomond Rega Master
Which are all around 11 lbs ...
If your gonna pay 400.oo dollars a rim ......might as well buy the ones that are lighter and forged, unlike the RG's which are cast .....

How come you guys tend to go for the smaller rim in the US??
Here in the UK if we are gonna change to after market rims we tend to go for 18's as a minimum....
Shed some light guys......

Because 18's are just for looks, unless you drive a Skyline with 800hp , that warrants huge brakes to actually need 18's .....
The smaller the wheel ..the less the rotational mass = more power to the wheels
18's and up ...on a honda .....is nothing more than a appearence aspect .....has nothing to do with performance .....
If you want fast .....you run them as SMALL as possible .....and WIDE

If thats what you do in the UK ....then from a performance aspect .....that sucks a big fat one .... GO USA

Yes .......forgded rims are formed in a press by multiple tons of pressure ...thus the metal will be stronger , thinnner , and overall lighter.

Here are a few photo's of some of the Type R UK gang........
As you can see they look pretty dark running on 19's!!

and this one on 18's

I can see why you guys want the speed from 16's but to be honest its not gonna make that much difference is it??
What do you think??

damn .....19's .....must be so slow ....
yes ..they make a big difference ....
Rotational mass is rotational mass ....even if its light ....
Its like putting a carbon fiber flywheel the size of a round dinner table on an engine ......
it maybe lighter than a 10 lb aluminum flywheel ....or of the same weight ....
but its entire "area mass" is what the engine ouput is required to move....
more area mass = more effort

For performance, stick with some good 16s, and for looks, I'd still go no bigger than 17s on a Honda.
