hawk hp brake pads.
just got some of these in. i have an 88 crx hf but i just threw on some 91 si spindles (calipers too). well i open up the box and try to put them on, but the damn things just dont seem like they will fit. i tried a few different ways but they all failed. it seems that some of the tabs on the pads are located in different places making it to where they are to large. does anyone have any experience with these or am i just putting them on wrong. heres a picture.
we-todd is down
ill get them up as soon as i can.
the hawk pads are on the left. and the stockers are on the right.
if it helps the model number is HB113F . 590 D373. thanks to anyone that can help.

The 113.XXX pads for the 90-91 Si caliper has an arc cutout along the bottom edge, exactly what you show on the left. However, the pad on the right in your picture is from an 88-89 caliper and I beleive it is a 128.XXX pad. [The 88-89 has the straight bottom edge and different tabs on the backing plate. ] The 90-91 caliper also has a larger diameter bore than the 88-89 that required a larger master cylinder as well. [ 15/16" vs. 7/8" I believe ]
Are you sure you installed 90-91 calipers on those new spindles?

well the guy i got these from said they were off a 91 crx si. while they were being shipped i ordered the rotors and the pads. i guess i wouldn't have known until i got them and replaced them anyways. so did this guy give me wrong information or what?
I'd check with your local Honda dealer / autoparts store and determine what is interchangable from the 88-89 to 90-91 Si with respect to the braking assembly/spindles. They could tell you if the rotors are the same for all 4 years. Bring along your pads and compare to the OE setup to determine what components you were actually sent.
BTW, the 88-91 Prelude 'S' used the same calipers as the 90-91 Si. Check the wrecking yards for inexpensive calipers/mounts as there are plenty of these cars around. Good luck.

sorry didnt catch the pads on the right, but those are definately the D273 pads, and D373 on the left, I dont know if the calipers are different, but the brackets certainly different, and I think that's what will dictate which pad is to be used, the rotors should work fine (as long as they are the ~9.25" rotors)

well im not even sure that these calipers are any good. could i just switch to 90-91 calipers on these 88-89 spindles. if thats even possible. i suppose i wouldn't lose any performance brake wise. thanks guys, been great help so far.
