I'm officially a Grandpa!
Well, not exactally, but that's what a few buddies were saying this weekend. They were flipping me **** about the "Grandpa Moustache" I bought for the truck.
Since I don't have a enclosed race car trailer yet (yet
) I wanted something to keep the spray off my car when I tow. I looked at several different kinds of splash guards at RV dealers, but didn't want anything permanent, and I didn't want to drill a bunch of holes in the bumper. Enter, the hitch-mount splash guard.

This one slides over the hitch receiver and comes on/off easily. It's not very pretty, but it serves the purpose. I think I'll eventually get one of the heavier rubber kinds that do a better job of stopping rocks/gravel, but this'll do for now.

I've heard them called "Grandpa Brushes" but I like the moustache better.
I can't say that I'd really ever noticed any normal road grit kicked up by the tow vehicle on the racecar after a standard tow. Then there was the time I hit a deer with the old tow van about 2 a.m. The next morning when we arrived at the track, there were shreds of sinew, fuzz and general blood spatter on the front and side of the racecar. Pretty gruesome to wash off.

You've never lived in the Pacific NW
When I lived in Seattle, just about every other truck had something like that on it. It's funny lookin, but it does the job
