88-91 CRX aftermarket Exhaust question.
To everyone who has an aftermarket exhaust setup on there CRX, here is my "?"
I want to go afermarket on my 88 Rex SI, BUT because there are sooo many differnet mufflers and cat-back systems out there I can't deside on a muffler/cat-back that carries a SOLID SOUND.
I'm talking about a sound that has a deep tone to it, but does't have that Hi PITCH CRACK sound to it.
A body of mine has a MAGNAFLOW muffler on his car and it sounds really nice when your driving eazy, but as soon as he steps on it, the car sounds like its spitting Rocks. I'm looking for a deep tone sound without the fire cracker affect when your given her gas.
Thankz in ADV. to everyones

4-1 header, 2.5" collect, good cat, 2.25" exhaust to the back, magnaflow muffler.
There straight though man, ever pick one up and look its a complete opening right though em. Only betting thing is straigh pipes.
Who cares about the crackle, install a res.

Years ago I ran a STROMUNG cat-back in my CRX. I got many compliments on the "throaty" sound at the autocross and drag race events. The exhaust tone was bearable during daily driving and didnt sound high and "raspy" like other exhausts Ive heard.
Currently, I'm running a THERMAL turbo rear section made for the CRX along with custom 2 1/2 piping from the JDM 4 to 1 collector on my ITR engined CRX.
It does kinda get high and raspy at the higher rpms, but what wouldnt at 9200+ RPM's.

I am running 2.5" mandrel bent stainless steel pipe from the exhaust manifold, not cat or res. and am using a dynomax ultra flow, its pretty noisy but my old dynomax super turbo i loved its sound and it was cheap too.
