Really need help!!!
OK. lately the fans on my 91 Acura integra RS have been staying on after i turn the car off. Last night, the alternator went and subsequently drained my battery. Now i am going to replace the alternator but i want to fix the fan prob as well because this may be contributing to the alternator problem.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong with the fans? I have read that it is a faulty "fan timer unit" but this is too general. Does anyone know what it is technically called?
I really appreciate all you help.

do you have a/c? if so check the relay it might be sticking. also check the radiator fan relay. your alternator going out had nothing to do with with, if anything it should be your battery going dead all the time.
I do have a/c....only started doing this about 2 months ago...its winter here so it doesn't get too hot. funny thing is the fans only turn on when i turn the car off. When i put the key to the position just before ignition, they turn off - pull the key out of the ignition and the fans go on...I need help!!!
Thanks
