Hey, I don't know much about transmissions or anything like that so i'll explain what happened and hopefully someone can give me some input on what they think the problem is. For about a month i had trouble getting my car into 5th, it would just take like 2 tries sometimes, and then last weekend the car would make a small scraching noise only when i had my car in nuetral with the pedal up....and then sunday night im driving and i couldnt get into any gear and i forced it in, and a few seconds later the car stopped and it sounded like all of my gears were grinding really loud for a second...then it was stuck in a gear but my shifter moved everywhere freely, and i had to keep my clutch in or the car would stall out, and when we pushed the car while holding the clutch in, the car fought it half the time. I was just wondering if it was most likely that i need a whole new tranny, or maybe just a bearing, or the clutch? It's a B16A tranny and supposedly it only had about 35,000 miles. Any input would be great, thanks.

On my old car a similar thing happened, but it was like the car was stuck in neutral, not in gear. The culprit was the clutch. HTH.

 

have the clutch changed. did you try changing clutch fluid?

 

I'm having it all checked out tomorrow, I just wanted to get an idea so the shop im taking it to doesn't try to say i need a new tranny from them, if i really only need a clutch.
