Default Fiberglass Rear Quarterpanel????

My girlfirend got in an accident in a 97 civic ex coupe, she was hit in the rear driverside quarter panel. She took the car to the body shop and they fixed it. Well, a couple weeks later, he car was parked, and it was hit in the same spot. There is a crack, however, where the previous damage was fixed. In looking at it closer, it appears that it is fiberglass! It is my understanding that the rear quarter panels are metal. Does anyone know if this is an acceptable form of repair? It seems rather usafe to me. Thanks!

Eric

It should have been replaced as metal, not FG.

Contact the shop.

sounds to me that they may have filled the dent with bondo and fiberglass. not many shops want to spend time/money to cut and reweld a new quarterpanel. it costs $$$. but regardless, were they approved by her insurance agency? you can always report the repair shop to them and if it doesn't meet the insurance companies standards, get in the shop's ***.
