Default tein ss coilover question for road racing

i used a setting 12 front and 8 rear during an event (adjustable up to 16)

My question is is that to much of a difference from front and rear.. I can feel my rear floating around when taking turns hard. when i set my setup more neutral 12 and 12 my rear is way to loose (with progress rear sway bar)

You might want to consider switching your springs from front to the rear and vice versa.

he didn't mention spring rates. those were his shock settings of 12 clicks front, 8 clicks rear. is it too much of a spread? only if you feel the car is faster with the 12/12 settings. shocks only affect corner entry and exit. set them to what feels good for you.

What did you set your Progress bar at?

When you said 12 front and 8 rear on the shock settings, are you talking about 12 clicks from the stiffest (most CW)?

The Redline event in December 03 at SOW (the same day that you were there), I was running on the following settings:

-Springs: 10k front, 8k rear (these are what I call "my street springs")
-Shocks: 6 clicks front, 2 clicks rear (from stiffest)
-Rear swaybar: middle setting
-Tire pressures: don't remember, but they were in the low 30s

My settings are FYI only because your driving style may vary, plus I have custom-valved HA rather than the OTS SS.

All the way to CW is the stiffest. 16 clicks (CCW) from that point is the softest. There are a total of about 23-24 clicks, but anything beyond 16 clicks from the stiffest won't do anything.

That's because the Tein SS shocks are valved very soft. It's a street shock--don't expect too much out of them.
