Boosting a GSR , need help!!!
Hey guys, im selling my civic si for a gsr w slavage certificate - theft recovery just missin int. and bumpers/headlights.. W. the extra money i want to boost the gsr ( i know the c1 is good bc of the low compression), but i dont know which kits are good. I was going N/A w the si so i know alot about n/a but everything is diff w boost bc of compression stuff. Anyways, what kit do you reccomend? I was thinking about the greddy, just a small kit for quick boost no turbo lag. I know that there are tons others out there and i have read alot about them, but i want to get reviews from YOU guys who have hands on experience. What do u think about greddy vs revhard vs garrett?
Thanks Alot guysssss

You might be confusing the LS low compression with the GSR's. LS = 9.2:1 and the GSR is 10.0:1. I've had experience with the Greddy kit, on a single cam though, and also the Rev Hard on a GSR. Both kits were pretty quality. The Rev Hard kit had a T3/04B so it spooled up fairly quickly. He was running around 7 pounds, and the best way to describe the car was "Torquey". However power seemed to kind of level off and pull about the same from 4-8 grand. HTH
Search around alot, there are always post like this in the archives too.

yeah i don't think 10:1 is "low". i've got t04E on mine and i love it. eveything was ordered individually and i spent about $2000. it's all up to you. if you wan low boost on stock block, go greddy. but if you want more power(and everyone does once they drive under boost) then i would put something else together with external wategate. personally i want external wastegate so greddy is out of the picture, and i don't like the "log"style manifolds that come with a drag kit.
What about tuning with the greddy emanage. I have decided to get the greddy 18g kit with intercooler. The only bad thing about the emanage seems to be the inability to adjust the rev limiter, which really isnt a concern since i wont be reving that high. there is no point with stock internals. They will die.

just go with the greddy kit . its the easiest to put on and has the least problems and makes the best power. ive got a buddy with the same kit on a ls civic maken 220hp with no other mods. the emanage comes preset with the kit .dont mess with it unless you have a greddy authorized dealer ajusting it.

LS is a DOHC motor also...
am I the first to say build your own kit... get the parts YOU want and find the best prices on each. Youll thank yourself in the end and maybe spend less cash.

I have had the drag kit on on both of my cars. Both put down over 300 hp at around 10 psi. I have no complaints with that. As far as using the greddy emanage. Who will be tuning your car? If you live in allentown there are not many tuners around except for Jeff Evans. If you want to take a ride in my car so you know what the drag kit feels like and how it looks just send me a PM. I am from allentown also.

I've ran 11 lbs of boost daily from a turbonetics turbo on my d16y7/8 stock internals, but thicker head gasket, for ohh about 3 1/2 years now reving to 7 grand frequently, and i've had no problems. Using hondata s200 though.

Ok looks like im going w the precision sc50 turbo and 2/1/2in custom downpipe, hondata s100, greddy prospec b w remote button lol, custom IC piping . i still havent decided on my other parts.. All i know is if this gets stolen im screwed... i was going to get slipstreams, but it seems better to just stay w stock gsr wheels for theft reasons.. its ricidulous that i have to do all this.. i live in the suburbs and the ******** are crawling up here to steal cars like crazy. I am even painting the IC black lol....
Kate I think the only thing you have worry about stealing your car where you live is the cows.
I would think gsr wheels would get stolen faster then slips. If you want to theft proof your car a little more let me know..

omg that sucks.. i had them on my si and they weren't touched at all.. i pulled all 4 outta the junk yard for $50 total lol. They are curbed to hell, but it doesnt matter for snow tires... well.. i dont have those anymore since i sold my si... ill miss that thing
... but then i can boost the teggie which i just paid off last night
... chad what else could i do for theft prevention? No matter wat i want a loud bov so you're not touching that!! hehehe... and all the electronics are going in the glove box except guages, and the remote button for the prospec b... im sure we can come up with a bunch of things to do.. i have to figure out a way to lock up the hood . Its not like the si bc i dont have the hood pins i can jam locks through... hmmmmmmm....

Yeah, i met Jeff for the first time the other day acctually. He's doing my bf's car and i mentioned something about the teg. in Junish for tuning.. he didnt seem too interested, but we;ll see.
bah to the precision sc50. same damn thing as the t3/t04e except it has some gt35 parts. really not worth the money IMHO.
another thing not worth the money is s100. $400 for a glorified ECU chip. not to mention the fact anytime you want to change anything you have to go to your tuner/local hondata guy and probably get charged up the ***.
