Skunk2 Intake Manifold...
i was looking into purtchasing a skunk 2 intake manafold for my r im running intake, header, testpipe, exhaust. soon to have the s200 hondata. i was wondering what everyone thinks of the intake manafold?? anyone have one on there r??
So you have a Type R? The skunk2 is a complete waste of money then, its a direct cast of the manifold you already have.
Spend your money elsewhere.

The Skunk2 IM by all acounts is pretty much a direct replacement for the stock piece. You could by the AEBS intake manifold, it is good for a couple of hp. You might want to spend your money elsewhere though. Perhaps cams, cam gears, and tuning?

Yep. Skunk2 = Stock ITR manifold.
Spend that money on tuning your hondata.

That's because it is identical.

these guys are right, don't waste your money on the intake, i do know a couple of
guys who saw a difference with the intake, but not much, but try the cam,
i have experienced a pretty decent horsepower jump in my 2001 r with a stage 1 skunk2 cam and valve springs.
if you want, i can hook you up with one, a friend of mine has a wholesale account with them and a bunch of other companies.
if you want you can hit me back at

Ugh, don't some of you get dimensions and sizings before you purchase things? No wonder import prices are so high for us....
Like everyone has said, don't do it...it's exactly the same...Check the dimensions and measurements on it and educate yourself...

geez, lot's of misinformation in this thread.
The skunk 2 IM is different than the itr IM. The runners are different diameters, and lengths. Dimensionally, it's different. Smoother on the inside as well.....
Does it make power over an itr IM on stock motor? No.
Would the $ be better spent elsewhere? Yes.
Which would be better if you are in the market for an IM? Whichever is cheaper.
