anybody running 225's on their itr?
If so, please post whether 225/50/15 or 225/45/16 or whatever size, offset and size of the wheels, and what the drop is like front and rear.
I'm looking to run 225/50/15's on a 15x7.5 +40's all around, with a pretty dumped suspension.....
Should I break out the bat and roll the fenders like crazy in anticipation or what?

You can if you roll the fenders alot.
My friend ran 225's for the racing series here and did some fender rolling to make them work. He was using Tein RS that were slightly lower than stock. He was running 16" volk wheels but I don't know what offset.

Not True.
Wai has 225/50/15's in front and his car measures just over 4" from the ground to the front/side jacking point. Slight rub at full lock, but this can be remedied by raising the height slightly. As for 225/45/15, you can get away with being a bit lower since the sidewall of the tire is shorter.
Please don't make blanket statements if you don't know what you're talking about.
Ken - if you are pretty low, you'll rub with 225/50 at full/almost full lock. But if you roll the fenders.... you'll probably be ok.

this is the same as you can't do 225 if you are lowered!

You don't make sense.
People do it, it works. Don't make blanket statements to answer people's questions.
Rubbing on the fender liner, so what? Roll them back a bit. Or put some spacers on.
To say it 'doesn't work' implies that you can't even put them on your car. you can drive around and have no problems. i rarely go full lock either way on my steering wheel, and to some people slight rubbing on fender liners isnt a big deal.

ok ok you win
in your sense rubbing the fender liner is not a big deal, coz you are rich or you use the car to go to tracks alot
but for me, it's a big deal, coz it costed me like 200 bucks to replaced the broken fender liner. and i will not remove the fender liner, since this is my daily ride. so for people poor like me, it is not possible or not recommend to use 225 tires on their cars if it is lowered.
but for people rich like you, it is acceptable.
now make more sense to you?

Can we just have a discussion on what is needed, without making wild-*** claims like whether someone is "rich" or not?
If you don't want to remove your fender liner, and if you have to use a narrower width tire to keep the fender liner, that's fine, that's your choice - but it may have nothing to do with anyone's financial circumstances.
Heck, I'm using stock size tires (Arctic Alpin in the winter, RE010 the rest of the year) on the street and 205 on the track. Does that mean that I'm poor? Or does it mean that I like having an accurate odometer and speedometer, and that I don't want any rubbing, and that I don't think I'll get a whole lot of benefit from wider tires? Maybe we can concentrate on the advantages and disadvantages of each setup, without ascribing reasons to someone's background...

01 R stock suspension,
225/45/15 Hoosier R3203 and Kumho Ecsta V700's,
7" wide +43 and +45 offsets,
It all fit, worked with minimal rubbing/melting and Nothing to cry about.
Hoosier's are wider and will rub more though.
If you go too low (Ken the Riceboy), a different offset and or spacers will cure the problem hopefully before rolling is required.
And WTF does rich and or comments about tracking your car have to do with it? I'm better off than some but less wealthy than others but, I still hate any damage to my car. Your derogatory track inference is plain stupid and just displays ignorance. I ran those tire combinations at autocross Before I drove on a track. I actually ran 205/50/15 Azenis on stock and 7" wide rims for DE's till this year when I'll again be running the V700 combination.

.....methinks the tire size + offset and size of the wheel has something to do with it.
I don't mind rolling the fenders, but would prefer not to remove the fender liners.
Hell, what am I saying? If I could run 15x10's all around, I'd do it no questions asked. Just tell me how. I am willing to get custom flared front fenders and do some psycho bodywork in the rear to make it work. Who is with me?
Sure, anything's possible given enough $ is thrown at it - but I don't think it'll cost that much to get 225's up under this bizzle.
And thanks Anton! This riceboy will run the 225 hoosiers that rodney gave me.....

OK, we found Another guy that'll take 2nd and 3rd hand rubber now. Actually dropped off his my (actually his first then mine) wasted V700's to another buddy of mine who wants to run them on his Mustang for Autocross this season for some unGodly reason.

Didn't have time to go thru all the posts yet. But yes, it CAN be done without rubbing anything.
225/50-15 on 15x7 (+45) Kosei K1. With 10mm spacer, making the effective offset to be 35mm.
Rub or not also depends on the spring rates, camber and ride height.

From the dead.....
Anyone planning to move to the new 225/45R15 Toyos for HPDE? Should I move to Toyo 225/45R15 on my ITR? I have a set of 15x7 +45 wheels now with nothing to put on them.
Do I need spacers? Wai was running +35 for a 225/50...
I don't care about full-lock obviously, just track conditions.
Solo2 stock peeps would run 225 tires with 45mm offset, but that may have been just a factor of the rules, and I'm not sure how much rubbing they have. Plus, I'm l lowered an inch.
