just bought a 89 crx si

It had some rust on the quarter panel but no big deal got the car for a good price .
Anyways just staarted to work on the car grinding away the rust no big deal , but then i relized wow the QP had a few cans of bondo on it wondering why I kept grinding
la la la la la HOLY **** whats this huge hole . I thought Damn what did i get my self into after further investigating i found this part in the hole does it really belong there? Pics below sorry for the big pics

kinda seems like the wrong forum, but yea it looks like you got ripped off to me... that rust is pretty bad...

its gunna take quite a bit of work and money to repair it too.

 

quick, look for the pants on the other side!

 

that's how rust developes in the rear qtr panels. nothing u can do but replace the metal. goodluck with bondo tho!!!

ahh the ole "t-shirt stuff in the quarter to help build up a surface to add bondo to" scenario.

i've seen it more with newspaper but eh oh well.

he made full note in the ad that he said it would probably need new quarter panels welded on and the damage you are showing is correct with that. though it looks like one of the rocker panels got eaten up too.

Just remember that you saw the pics and you STILL bought it. when you went to pick it up you could have inspected better by poking fingers and such in places but then again you STILL bought it.

how much did you pay? he said it would be sold as a rolling shell? if so I wouldn't have paid more than $300 for it personally.

I didn't know the oxidation of Iron knitted t-shirts in the process, better yet, printed ones.
