I dl'd the video for discovery and it doesnt look half bad sense its actual racing on a track. with people that know what they are doing guiding them. What i am reffering to is the sitcom on the WB.
another OT: there was some Detective Drama show a couple months back that I glanced at. Looked like CSI Vegas. The story line involved street racing, murder and winning pink slips, etc. Just interesting how they use the scene as part of a story line. Had the Alpine RSX on there. was suppose to be the "Fast" car of the show.
Im all for publicity for the import scene. But some of it projects a negative view to the uneducated viewer.-pdang
They'll never portray drag racing as anything positive. It's too boring that way. All they'll ever imply is that imports and drag racing are for troublemakers...respectable people don't drag race...drugs and drag racing...illegal activities. Blah blah blah. Damn brainless one-nutted *********.

This is the same thing that has been going on for generations and it'll never change. We can only hope to educate the ignorant on our sport and industry in hopes that the general media and Hollywood won't affect everyone that sees a show or news clip. We all know that there are very impressionable people everywhere. You can't fight the media but if you can reach one person at a time it's a start.
I try not to watch those "documentries" as they barely tell half the story. A true documentary would have to be made by somone in the indusrty/sport.

I think discovery should do a show based on the life of the pro-am import racer. Im gonna have to say someone like either Ed.b and Ron. Or someone along those lines, sorry Chris R. you live a life most dream about
. I say follow the team from the off season the year before and conclude at the end of the season. Follow thier life on the road, thier determination and work in and between rounds, thier wins and loss's. I think that would be a great foundation for a show. my 2 pennies.-pdang

Very good idea.. People need to see the amount of work that actualy goes into one of these cars.. Also that way people will see how difforant the movies and real life are.. Unfortunately too many outsiders to the sport saw F&F and think thats how things realy are...
For the most part most on the circut that travel are really great people in the scene. Viewers can see the dedication, hard work, and sacrafice these guys make to not only put on a proffesional looking racing program but to entertain the masses. I know they dont do it for money cause the "big" money is just not thier yet. I at least hope discovery goes back to the drawing board and actually put some major thought into the import scene. Dont get me wrong thier is money to be made here. But when they wanted to do the show monster garage look who they choose...mister jeesie james....guy knows tons about fab work and what not. Now the idea they had for this previous show had good key points. they had good shops work on the cars, but from what im hearing the "street racers" need just alittle more ughm....even the guys on monster garage atleast have a strong background in whatever the project. I would enjoy it more if they had like say actuall builders, tunners of the industry battle it out.......just like super street did a couple years back with the factory honda si challenge. once again only my 2 pennies.-pdang
