Default Q about my springs....

I have spoon coilovers on my ITR, i'm not sure if the springs are also spoon items or someother jdm brand, but theyre black the same as the shocks so i'll assume for now they are spoon springs too. There are labels on the rears saying 4.5kg/mm which i would consider a low rating (ie a softish spring) I've read in various threads that Spoon coilovers are more track orienatated than street and that they wont last long on bumpy roads (which is what we have over here) I have set the shocks to #1 setting and the ride is still very solid although it does allow some bounce. Are 4.5kg/mm soft street springs and would it make much difference if i raised the coilovers 3/4 inch to allow more shock travel (theyre set at the moment to allow approx 1/2inch between the tire and the top of the wheel arch front and rear) I'm afraid that with the current settings and our roads which for the bigger part are crap, it wont be long before i'm going to have to replace shock bushings.....

you have their street setup...like the mugen lowdowns

their race setups have come with much higher custom springrates which you are allowed to choose

Thanks...so will raising the car slightly to allow more shock travel make the ride less solid?
