I'm looking at buying a model called a CXi here in Australia (its an EK model, 1999-2000 year). Basically its the lowest spec model with no tacho & rear drums.

Anyways, I know that the USA EK's without tacho's can accept any EK instrument unit that has a tacho & this is a plug-n-play installation. I've heard that the Australian models without tacho's don't have a certain wire so that you need to re-wire the instrument wiring harness to get a tacho instrument unit to work.

Does anyone know if the Australian models are plug-n-play regarding the instruments?
