Anyone ever get their seats re-apulstred???
I've got some stock 88 Si seats in my CRX and my (oh so sweet) mother offered to get them re-appulstred. I would like to get them redone in leather with red stitching (kinda like the UKDM SiR seats
). Anyone ever had it done? Is it worth it or does something like that usually cost more than its worth to buy some...
Thanks in advance,
Vince

id like to get my integra seats reapholstered also.. that and a new piece of moulded carpet would make my EF like new.. how do you like your y8 set up?? sounds very similiar to what i am about to do... d16y7, z6 mani etc
I like it...i haven't driven it too much because i've been working on it (you name it i've done it). I actually put in new carpet that i bought from JCWhitney.com for like $160 shipped i believe? It didn't fit as perfect as stock and i had to cut all of the holes out for shifeter and center console, seat rails, etc. But it looks great and no one would notice it unless they were really trying. Actually i'd say the carpet is 95% same as stock in terms of fitment. The Y8 is nice it pulls pretty good but i have a DX tranny on it now. I'm hoping it will be a bit faster with an Si tranny and the crower Stage 2 w/P&P head i will be getting

One of my buddys did it and it turned out great and I saw a few people on the net who have done it.
It will turn out great and look stock if some one reputable does the work and its good material.

I had my seats re covered in tweed. With some repadding it ended up being about 150 or so a seat plus material. I was told my seats cost a little more to do because there is roughly 20 some pieces to the pattern of the seat.

I dont know if my example applies to your question, but I had both seats of my CRX DOHC VTEC re-upholstered in genuine leather (better than the stock ones). I really like the stock bucket seats of the DOHC VTEC CRX, but I almost fainted when I heard that the leather-guy wanted 550E for both seats (450E for him and 100E for the guy doing the red "CRX VTEC" insignia).
Seats were stripped, all joints were re-done, seats were then re-stuffed and covered in VERY nice black leather. I'm still thinking the cost was a little high (hell, I had found brand new cloth Sparco seats for 400E apiece), but the end result was really worth it.
Anyway, hope I helped you out a bit.......

The 88 CRX Si that I just bought has had the seats re-upholstered with new factory upholstery. You can still order the factory seat fabric allready sewn together and ready to slip on from the dealer but it's really expensive!!!!
I need to take mine apart... when they re covered the driver's seat they added a bunch of extra padding, now my head is hitting the ceiling!

Hmmm. sounds good...i was hoping that if i got it done at a shop they could do it in leather for not too much more. I'll get a price on the seats then shop around for re-upholstered prices as well. I'll update.

You can't, actually. Myself and several others on this board have tried to get covers and foam for these seats, but neither Honda nor Recaro has them.

Sorry about that, last time I checked on Majestic Honda's website (about a year ago) you could. My bad.

They're listed with prices and part numbers on Majestic Honda's site, and also in the database of every Honda dealership parts department across the country - unfortunately for us, just because something is listed in the catalog does not mean it is still available. With the CRX being 13 years old at minimum, Honda has discontinued most of the parts for it.

I had my door panels and my seats done last year, and they turned out nice. I havent put in the door panels yet because they say CRX VTEC on them and I havent put in a VTEC engine yet. The seats can be seen at my link below.
I knew a guy in Chicago who had the interior of his 98 Prelude redone in two-tone vinyl. It was $750 out the door (did front and rear seats and door panels).
Damn, that is nice as hell. Except where the headreast is stretched, but i think youc an avoid that. How much did something liek that cost? Oh, and thats the 2nd crx ive seen wih the angled headlights, well, the covers on teh top, but is that actually added to the hood? Or is it a light cover chopped up. I must say, i like it, but im sure everyone would consider it rice, since its copying alot fo the nissan's. Still think it looks nice, adds style.
For $600 you could purchase ITR seats which are suede and just as comfortable as CRX seats. Then sell the CRX seats to recoup some of the money.
Ha never really thought of that...although it makes a lot of sense. I'm going to check out a few prices around me for the job then make a decision.
