One with holes in the block and a dead tranny maybe.

I was under the impression that you could get the non-type-s motor... the stock 2.0L for around that price... If your doing a full rebuild... there's no sense in buying a type-s or type-r.....

BTW what are differences in k20a3/a2?

If you get a new cam/valvetrain and **** it'd be better to use a3 anyway right?

the a3 (Si) only has the I-VTEC on the intake I believe, i know it's only on 1 cam. The a3 has a plastic IM.

a2 has a 6 spd tranny, a3 only has 5 speed.

i think CR is a little higher than in the a2.

i'm not postive on the CR though.

wrong... there is sense in buying a type S, if you are doing a full rebuild. The type R would be a waste however. Since the Type S and the Base RSX do not share the same VTEC. Its completely different.

I am waiting for a call from a local Honda wrecking yard that is selling a drop-down k20a2 for $3,200.00.

Could be tomorrow.

Could be next month.

Either way, I'll be ready.

I have just the block (Type S), less than 5000 miles...bought from local Acura dealer but sold the head 2 weeks ago. Customer claims it was burning oil, probably just needs new rings. I can post pics or you can come and take a look. Block is at Red Star Racing in Hayward...$700 plus shipping
