P1298 Electric Load Detector (ELD) Circuit High Voltage
does that mean the ELD is receiving a high input voltage,or that there's a problem with the ELD itself?
best thing i can say is get a shop manual and do the troubleshooting procedure for the ELD.maybe also check out how much voltage your alternator is putting out.

Anything relating to "voltage" means you need a multi-meter in order to see just what that voltage is.
In order to troubleshoot the problem, you need some schematic/wiring information, as well the diagnostic procedure to do so.
The repair information can be found in a Helms manual (located in my sig). For a multi-meter, look into a Fluke or something similar.
Aside from this, you can visually check your wiring for cracks and the like, but you need the above "tools" to do anything with any suggestions anyone could give you.
