im looking for a new exhaust... your imput please!
ok heres my dilemma... im n/a now but i plan to boost with in the next year, i am wanting to get something new for my car so i thought i might as well get the exhaust out of the way. my question is will 2.5 in be large enough for turbo application while at the same time be safe for my n/a for the year? also i want something very quiet at idle and in lower rpm with a throaty sound when i stomp on it!
i have been told that the greddy sp2 and the apexi world sport are the closest i will find but im stuck on the tanabe design, will the tanabe be raspy or will it have a nice sound that i along with everyone else will enjoy and at the same time be completely functional for my current and future setup? i know there are a million threads out there about exhausts but i wanted to find answers that applied to my spacific questions... any help would be much appriciated and also if there are any other exhausts out there that i or my informants have overlooked please feel free to enlighten me! t.i.a
btw mods of you could make this a poll it would be great! i dont know how!

the tanabe super racing medallion will with work with na or boost. you may loose a little in your the low end while your n/a but not enough to worry about. one thing about the tsrm is that it is loud and deep at just about every rpm so theres no being quiet with this exhaust. a friend of mine has a comptech exhaust on his n/a and he loves it, like you said before it's quiet at idle but it sounds good when you give it extra gas.
I've been through two exhuast, the first one was a racing medallion but it was too loud and sold it. Now i have a RSR and I love the tone my exhuast now. Very quiet. If you plan on boosting racing medallion is a good choice and N/A for now.
tanabe Racing medallion is your best bet for NA /Turbo. The exhuast is quite loud but the silencer does help a little. Unless the greddy one comes in stainless steel, i wouldn't bother.. I had a greddy on my car and it rusted thru in about a year and a half. Thermal is anohter exhaust u might want to look into

u can always put in a resonator...that should solve the raspy sounding problem..
2.5 will work with turbo, but id go with a 3 inch and live with it till u boost it..

Take my advice, do it RIGHT the first time. Get a 3" exhaust and leave your stock exhaust on until then. Now with that being said I have a Thermal 3" I can make you a good deal on
I got the evo from greddy and it is the bomb. Deep and quiet at idle, but at open throttle sounds high performance. Not annoying at all. When you get up to speed it's hardly there. If you like your exhaust deep , this one is the way to go. evolution.
i say just wait until you boost it cus if you get a 2.5" now, you're gonna regret it when you boost and crave for that extra .5" to create that extra power...just leave the stock exhaust for now, and when you boost, get a 3" pipe kit and 3" ES oval muffler from kteller and get it welded...but thats just $0.02 cus thats what i plan on doing...
Get a custom system made, 2.5 inch piping with a exhaust cut-out for when you go turbo. Quicktime Performance has an electric cut out, that i would reccomend over a Mr. Gasket cable type cut out.
