What is a good degreaser that leaves no residue, is safe on paint, and is stronger than simplegreen?

 

What are you trying to remove Gabe?

Rubbing alcohol works to take out things such as tree sap, bird droppings, bugs, etc.. It DOES strip wax however. It is safe for your paint. I would just wash it off right off right away of course.

 

I am trying to clean up a JDM valve cover.

I have found brake parts cleaner to be an amazing degreaser, however it is a little harsh for paint. In the past I tried using it on valve covers and had it turn the black paint brown

 

Honestly, I'd just take the valve cover off and work on it in a "safer" work area.

 

That is what I am doing. It is currently in my basement with some simplegreen chillin on it.

The black paint I was refering to was on a black non-itr valve cover... not my car, in case that was unclear
