FS: ITA/ECHC H4 Honda Civic Race Car
I may regret this some day, but looking at my available time and money over the next year or so, I have to get out of wheel to wheel racing for a while.
This is a fully built, competitive ITA and/or ECHC H4 1990 Honda Civic Si. Anyone out there who is thinking about going racing -- this is the easiest and cheapest way to do it competitively, I guarantee. I am selling the car for what I bought it for, which is an absolute steal. I have made some minor improvements, done ample maintenance, and added to the spares package, and it is sold ready to race and win. When I was shopping last year, I made a list of how much it would cost to reproduce this car. Not counting labor, I stopped adding at about $14,000.
$6000 firm - and it must remain a race car, not to be parted out. Available as soon as I finish up some maintenance (front hub and bushing replacement). Drive it at VIR in February!
I did six events total on the car, including a first place finish my first ever race weekend. It also placed first in every time trial entered this year, including a Fastest Overall award. 1:26 at Roebling, 1:57 at CMP, 1:48 at VIR-North, all limited by the driver (there is more time out there).
Following are some details off of the top of my head. If anyone is interested, give me a call for some more information.
1990 Honda Civic Si
Fully built 0.020 over motor
Z-dyne programmable ECU
Puckett header
Borla exhaust (legal noise levels)
OPM LSD
4.94 custom FD
400#/600# coilovers
Custom valved, shortened Konis
Kick *** paint job
14x7 Borbets with worn Toyos
Oil cooler
Remote oil filter
Quick-release Momo wheel
Custom gauges and gauge box
Front stress bar, AFPR, SS lines, etc, etc - it's got all the goodies
Appx. 2000 lbs empty - min race weight is 2175 lb.
Also included:
Boxes and boxes of spares - ECU, hubs, uprights, etc.
14x6 wheels with Hoosier Dirtstockers (THE rain tire)
14x6 AR-24s with dated 225-50-14 Hoosiers
A pile of spare 225-50-14 Hoosiers

It has been a race car for years and has had it's share of "incidents". Parts of the car underneath and inside are wrinkled, but it has always been straightened professionally and aligns fine with no special tricks, and the previous owner used OEM Honda body panels (!!). It really is a beautiful car! It could also use some more serious brake ducting and some lighter wheels. The cage design is "dated" and could use some updating.
Any questions? More pictures available, or you can come over to my place (Cary, NC) to see it.

Sorry to see you getting out of W2W. Looks like a good deal too. Everyone considering building a car for 2004, take my advice and grab this car.
All these kick *** cars available now for killer prices is really starting to **** me off
-travis, who will continue to tell people he has learned a lot from building a racecar but thinks it would have been cheaper to buy a built car and get a third college degree...

I was driving this car for one of the "incidents" and the autographed quarter panel is on the wall at OPM.
Only drove it once at Roebling Road when Chuck owned it and had a good time in it. The incidents this car has been involved in were always repaired correctly and done well - no hack work.

Ah yes, the car that OWNED most of us at LMS in 2002....
Mike, sorry to hear your getting out of it after your short stint, hope to see you back!

This is the 2nd time I've said this in under a year...
If there wasn't already a race car in my garage I'd buy this car. This is the 2nd time its been offered at a price thats just insane.
Some history before Mike owned it:
- 2003 Pro-IT win at Barber
- At least one ARRC enduro win, maybe more.
- As Corey mentioned, made a whole bunch of H1-H3 cars look silly at Lowes in 2002.
- Lots and lots of regional wins over the years.
The car used to be owned by Chuck Reynolds, who treats his race cars like show cars. No expense or effort spared.
I'm pretty sure this car won the last race Chuck drove it (Barber) AND the last race Whitney drove it (VIR). Its a horse. Unless you are a very good driver you'd be holding back the car.
Somebody in the SE please buy this car. Its a local icon.

You forgot who was driving the car at LMS. I think that had a little bit to do with it
Great deal on a great car, indeed.
