Hey everybody, i was just curious to see if anyone here has purchased a swap from like HMO or another source, and recieved a modded engine. Like cams/valves/springs/pistons/chipped ecu's? I was just curious because i know they mod their engines over their to.

 

My friend got an s13 motor and it came with s15 goodies on it. Not aftermarket but still a mod since the previous owner put it all on there. [s15 turbo/injectors/etc]

 

Yes, we have gotten honda motors with ITR cams and another with aftermarket cam gears...It doesn't happen very often but it cool when it does!

I wish my car came with some jdm itr cams... ctr cams... whatever.. I just want them..

yeah that would be cool-but you know what would suck? buying some cams for 700 bucks not knowing you already have them, then installing them all to have no power gain at all

 

what about receiving the wrong engine? Like ordering a b16a1, and getting a b18c5? I have heard that this kind of **** has happend from osaka

You know what another problem is? Chances are someone raced or ran the **** out of it. If it is still in great mechanical condition, the better cams would be a nice bonus indeed.

 

I recieved a modded B18C5 last fall, and have had a ton of problems with it.... It came with B16B pistons, Crane 2 cams, a rebuilt tranny with the wrong 3rd gear in it, a chipped ECU. We're having problems with burning some oil, check engine lights, backfiring, and a few other things, but just wanted to give you a heads up.....

who did you get the swap from? osaka-cause you gotta expect that **** from them

 

We ordered an engine through a local shop for a friend's turbo MR2. The motor we recieved, we were going to swap the timing belt on, and the timing belt was BLUE, so we investigated. HKS cams, HKS cam gears, and it had clips on the 02 sensor like someone had a Air/Fuel gauge on it at one point.

That motor ran like a scalded dog... 102 MPH in the 1/8th before it sputtered and died... with WAY too much boost through a 60-1 hi-fi, of course!

My H22A came with an RSR header (only the top half) sircrxracers b16a (that i sold him ) came with a (spoon sports?) intake manifold gasket (venturi thing?)

 

As far as I know... All I've gotten w/ my swap is a aftermarket clutch.
That's cool though b/c it's held up good.

Maybe cams...I dunno. It's putting out 140hp so I doubt it.

 

My LS motor i ordered a while back from HMO came with an act 6 puck clutch and the b16 i ordered from them came with a mildly ported head
