CRX back seat
I wouldn't let my kids ride in the back. EVER.
I hardly let anyone ride in the back.
The back is part of the crumple zone...have you ever seen a CRX with rear end collision damage?

If I worried about someone hitting me in the *** everytime I went for a drive, then I would be an old grey looking man from the stress of worrying about what might happen to me everytime I get behind the wheel. You can have something happen to you at anytime anyplace. We have no control over destiny my friends. Everything in life happens for a reason. We are just the puppets on the puppetmasters strings.

Obviously it is somewhat safe because the German inspection laws here allow it and people drive alot faster here than in the states. Whats the difference in a CRX wtih a back seat or a damn Geo or some other small car. They are all death traps to an extent. Thanks for your input though.

Yes...they allowed it 10 years ago, and the only reason cars like ours are still on the road is because the can't ban them.
Oldtimer cars are allowed on the road without any seatbelts or the likes. Does that make them any safer?
A friend of mine had an audi in th eback last year....I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Good luck with your kids seat I think.

You can see the story told by the pictures above. I certainly wouldn't want to sit back there at all - there's no leg or head room whatsoever, it's potentially dangerous in an accident, and the seat belts are just 2-point lap belts. It's almost guaranteed that you'd be injured severely in an accident.
Only thing that seat is good for is a shelf - and it seems to me that the storage box that takes its place in North America does a better job of that anyway.
Just because something was available on a car elsewhere doesn't mean it is safe. The US has far more strict automobile safety standards than any other country for good reason.
