how to advance timing?
how do i advance my timing? and how much do i advance it? i dont have a timing light, so i need to go to a shop. does anyone live in utah that knows how to do this properly?
Look under your hood. There is a sticker under there that tells you. Stock is 16 degrees and Honda "recommends" you keep it within plus or minus 2 degrees.
Why do you want to advance your timing?

Well, if you haven't touched the distributer, it's probably set at 16 degrees. Loosen the 3 12mm bolts around the dizzy. Rotating it counterclockwise will retard the timing, and rotating it clockwise will advance the timing.
Definitely get a timing light so you don't go too far. Make sure you know exactly what ignition timing actually does before you go do it just because you heard somewhere that "advancing timing will give me a few horses." It's not that simple. It has to do with the timing of the spark versus the travel of the piston. Too much or too little, and you can do serious damage.
NOTE: Don't mean to flame, but you don't know how to advance/retard timing on your Integra when you have a GSR boosting 12psi? At that point, it should be as simple as changing a tire. Just be careful d00d.
