buy the car first, you may not even like it.. or may want to keep it stock.. just drive it for a while and take it from there.

As a heads up, you are going to get a hard time from a lot of people since you are only 16. They'll probably tell you to learn how to drive the car as is before modding it. Whether they are right or wrong, I won't say. I will say be careful of both driving a dangerous car for a new driver and of theft if you are in VA. Good luck.

Tell you mom thanks.
Get a vafc instead of safc, if not those then something like hondata.

Drive the car stock until you are 20. Spend your money on autocross, driver education, and track events.

Donate your car to honda-tech and we'll take care of it for you until you reach 20.

Damn, 16 with a Type R, that's worse than me being 21 and owning an S2000.

Don't EVER say you know how to drive... Even the best drivers in the world will admit they learn something new everytime they are on the track.

16? I bet you'd lose to a UPS truck around a track. Mods don't make a car fast.

I suggest you learn how to drive.

I agree to the above about the UPS truck. They always run my *** in the ground
Since you want to spend money. pay for the god damn EXPO since you are so close and track that thing while there are still spots left.

Don't spend a dime!!!!!!! For now anyway.

You're prolly all excited like i was when i first got it but my best advice is just to relax and let the newness fade alittle. Otherwise you'll end up buying a bunch of things you'll end up not using.

Read, read, read! If this is your first time on here, (H-T) welcome. There's a crap load of info for you to sort out so that should keep you busy for a few weeks. For now, the search button is your friend.

Above all else, figure out what you want to do with your car. How far you want to go. You can go along way to create a good/quick street car carefully choosing mods and believe it or not, not spending a lot of money in the process.

Louie~ who wishes someone told him this when i first got the R.

You have absolutely no respect from me. You are a 100% stunna 16 year old that thinks he knows everything. You do not deserve an R. My best suggestion would be for you to tell your mommy to sell it for you. Maybe a Civic DX would be better suited until you grow up. Good luck, and for the R's sake, I hope you get rid of it, or it gets repo'd.

this is the attitude of a true 16 year old.

Invincible and never wrong.

Oh yeah 16 year old always seem to have a never ending supply of money , and it some how makes it way from mom or dad.

Listen kid, Take some advise, Yes it might be hard to swallow but take $300 and sign up for a Local HPDE and see what its all about.

they're not talking about stuff you learn in drivers ed or driving schools you attend for traffic violations.. this is something that you learn so you can understand more about controlling your car on a roadcourse.

When does driving a 554 whp hatchback give you world-class driving skills?
