Cheap Skate??? I don't know about that I already shell out 10k on the car with a bunch of JDM goodies. Its a daily driven car I don't need a 2k paint just something reasonable like 900-1300, if you know what i mean.

well, if you can shell out 10k on JDM goodies, you can shell out 2k on a reasonable paint job.

Is it just a re-spray or a full color change?

Prep it yourself and then have maaco spray it if you're not wanting to spend a bunch on a respray.

Just think of it this way..... You get what you pay for. I've seen Macco paint jobs and i've seen M.O.B. and other high quality shops paint jobs. I paid $3370 (not at M.O.B.) for my old paint job and never had any problems with chips on the front bumper hood or fenders, and I drove that car 100+ miles a day. On top of that, when the car was done I had a full 1 year warranty against chips or defects.
You obviously care enough about your car to paint it, do it right the first time!!!

I think you guys spend too much money on the paint jobs on your civic's... $2k+ on a paint job for a daily driven civic seems like overkill IMO.

anyway, if you want to find a good price on a good paintjob. find a guy in your town who works at a good bodyshop and get him to paint your car as a side job

How did you pay that little? I was quoted at $2k minimum for a red hatchback.

the best shop for any body work, paint, and cosmetics is hands down
AA AUTO BODY in Panorama City (just outside Van Nuys).

now was that for the inside too? because it would've costed me $2100 if I wanted to paint the inside also. the $1200 is just for the outside and door jams. btw the owner is a friend of my friend so he gave me a good price.
