It has been awhile and no more rule book. What is the required size of the number and size of the class letters, i.e. 47 AS.

 

8" for numbers, 4" for class letters.

I chose to go with 10" numbers on my car just to make it easy on course workers and timing people.

 

This may seem like a stupid thing to write, but after working timing I understand the benefit of having visible numbers... please make sure you use a contrasting color, ie dark numbers on a light car, or light numbers on a dark car. Solo 2 workers will greatly appreciate it.

Thats not stupid at all. Thats the exact same reason I got the bigger numbers. I used to run the timing computer in our region and it sucks when you can't see peoples numbers.
