Cold Air Intake, remove when it rains?
do any of you guys remove the ur cold air intakes when it rains? or do you just roll with it. i know its a weird question. but just wondering for my own knowledge. thanks in advance for any replys
how much rain are we talking about? no need to take it off assuming there aren't any masses of standing water on the road, other than that just do ur best to avoid big puddles...
to hydrolock

unless you are rolling up to mid rim submerged in water, it will be fine. If you still worry about it, consider a AEM V2, it's between CAI and SRI in length and power gain is near CAI (always debated though).

california rains here and there, but when it pours... it pours. so what everyone is saying is, as long as it isnt submerged i should be fine? i also wonder if maybe i could fabricate like a casing that will cover 3 sides of the intake, something like a cube with one open end. block off the bottom closest to the floor and block off the sides, leaving the top open closest to the motor.

i don't think you need to do that but if it makes you feel better about driving in the rain go ahead, just make sure it's not cutting down on the effectiveness of ur intake first

I also used to be concerned in the rain, I do pay more attention to the puddles and such...Having HID's really helps at night
...lol...
I also try not to get behind to many people, you know how all that dirty water and crap gets thrown up on the car behind you...

Yeah no need to take out off your cold air, just make sure you avoid big puddles that can result in losing your bank account over....
Also don't step on the throttle when going through steep water above your ankles just roll and you'll be fine...I don't even like driving when the weather is bad enough to hydrolock my car!

I've had my cai for a while now. I have an ep3 with an injen cai. I've gone through some heavy *** rain, no problems. But I'm not going to run through big puddles during the rain...and I also have a stock front bumper, so I guess that helps...unlike some with say a buddy club kit...
