Need clarification on "NHRA Roll Bar"
After reading the sport compact rule book and searching here on HT, its still not clear as to what NHRA consideres a roll bar. If you read the book, it says 11.99-10.00 requires a roll bar in a car with stock floor pan and firewall. Roll bar, thinking 4 point. Then if you scroll down and look at the picture showing measurment, it shows a 6 point
So, if I'm running high 10's, and I'm sending the car to the chassis shop for a roll bar, I need to make sure its a 4 point or a 6 point to be leagal to run NHRA events
Section 9 paragraph 4:10 in general regulations.
rear bracesmust be of same diameter of rollbar...
Side bar must be included on drivers side and must pass driver between the shoulder and elbow.
So at the very minimum it must be a 5 point rollbar. If you do the passenger side bar to make it stronger it willbe a 6 point.

the five pont is the minimum required for your application, if you re-examine the drawing you will see there is no passenger side bar in the drawing, but the six is what most racers have been installing. this may be of interest to you depending on your setup but the side bars strenghtens the center of the car by triangleating the weakest section of the car, the door openings. many racers want as solid a platform as can be accomplished with what they are working with so they opt for the side bars and sub-frame connectors. it can way more involved then this and of course there are a ton of variables. a side note: i didn't look to see if changes were made to the drawing in the 04 rulebook because we have been utilizing that drawing for so long, i am assuming you will be going for the 6 anyway so it really shouldn't matter.
