Mom has a 98 Accord EX V-6 and her gauge never read full. Took it to the dealer they replaced the sender unit? now it works just fine.

The fluctuating fuel reading is a common characteristic of Honda automobiles since the mid 80's, doesn't mean there is a problem, just means the sending units are quick to respond the changes of the fuel level during normal driving conditions..

But as brig4 posted, 96-98 series Accords had a problem with fuel gauges not reading full when the gas tank was topped off.. this problem was fixed with a replacement of the fuel guage sending unit..

my 95 is like that sometimes...it's a typical problem

my 93 never reads full...the needle is a degree or so off...it never reaches full, but i think it goes below empty by about the same amount as it falls short of full
