Hondata P28 Problem... one injector not firing
Ok, i've done my search... noone has covered this before (as to my knowledge)... I attained a P28 with S200 installed, went to run it on my car, and it ran like crap. So i brought it to < RPM NYC > who wrote me a start-up program for my motor with 450cc DSM injectors. Well, I installed the injectors with the resistor box correctly (via instructions here on H-T... and through the use of a Snap-On test light (for accuracy)).
My Problem: the #3 cylinder injector isn't firing. It's constantly recieving a negative ground signal on one of the wires. This problem is with the ignition off. With the ignition on, it's recieving power, no ground, and at a different Ù reading. The ohms read .19 on the injectors that were working and .28 on the non-working injector.
I called up RPM again, and explained everything to them (Thanks alot Tommy and Chen) and they said that my P28 is probably fucked the **** up.
Any alternate ideas, gentelmen?
Any clue where this could be coming from (internally in the p28, i mean)?
thanks

Could be grounding somewhere you can't see? There's a # of things that might be causing your problem. Trace the wire's back to the ECU and see if it's exposed It could be the P28 though. Where did it come from?
Good Luck

Yea, i kind of figured it might be something like that aqlso.. but them i popped in my PO6 computer and found that the problem disappeared.
Thanks for the thought though

I remember reading somewhere on the Hondata site that there are sometimes issues with DSM 450cc injectors and Hondata. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=456616
Two things could be wrong.
1. It could be the wiring for the injectors since it is modified to fit with resistor box.
2. Could be the injector driver in the ECU thats fried.
Ooops, or it could be both.

Nah, the wiring for the resistor box was fine, i triple checked it with a test light and voltage/ohm meter.
can the injector driver in the ECU be fixed? i really don't want to buy a new ECU

if you changed the ecu and it works fine, then your problem is the ecu

How can it be easier to just get another ECU? Cost of ECU is $125, Hondata Hardware is $50, installation is $75. $250 total cost.... if i can repair mine for less, i'll be happy.
Edit: Sunburst... the IC's are circuits soldered into the ECU, correct?

well, i'm sending out the ECU to see if they could correct the injector driver... lets see what happens... wish me luck
