Default Anyone have a "spare" Mugen rear sway bar? (handling discussion)

Getting my "new" car up to the handling I've been used to, and I'm planning on using my old front Mugen Bar in conjunction with another 26mm Mugen rear (I tore my old one up in the accident).

Gonna try this on a stock suspension, meaning stock 70K mile springs and shocks (which still seem healthy), but with the antiroll additions of the afore mentioned front and rear 26mm bars. Part of the reason for my "need" for the above setup is to have it work well (w/o excessive push or oversteer) when used with some sticky tires on 15 x 7.5 SSRs, in particular on the twisty Shanandoah circuit for the Expo. Just thought I'd see if anyone has one they'd like to part with since I've been itching to give the guys at King a call (and they may not even be in stock).

Thanks, IM me if you've got something. Ed

As an aside, I'm going to see if handling can overcome a power disadvantage since I'll be probably running with an otherwise stock ITR (stock header/exhaust/flywheel), except for maybe an ECU change, appropriate brake pads/fluid and routine maintenance (valve adjustment/timing belt/plugs/rotor/cap).

Damn Ed, you've been spoiled.. look@ what the dark side has done to you

I love my stock motor, I'm baffled by it daily...

So, you need the 26mm rear bar to offset the 26mm front bar?

Why not just run the OEM front bar w/JDM rear?

I think maybe the 26mm is to big for stock suspension (to much travel). You could do some serious damage to the chassis. Have thought of using a 24mm? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Just my 2cents

mikehonda: who is using a 26mm, 12K/10K Zeals B6s

Yes, I have indeed been spoiled!
It's been a long time since I've had the opportunity to drive an R with the stock suspension, and I find it quite nice though almost as stiff as my previous setup (odd).

There is that possibility, though recently I remember reading that BPR had said he'd been using the Mugen bars on his stock suspension just about since the car was new with no ill effects.
Speaking of suspension travel, I'd been running (in #236) Buddy Clubs with 12K F and 14K rear springs, and found that sometimes it seemed that there was not enough suspension travel in the front (for instance cresting a sharp uphill driveway/little hill).

True, I do tend to go for the overkill setup as aften as not, but I still have the front bar from the old car (which I'd sort of won at the first Expo) and would like to make use of it in #151, but need to get another rear one to match things up. I'll let you guys know how it works out. Thanks for the input guys.

BTW -- just ordered one from King, but they're on back order with no date set.
