Hmm, I am also interested in this...mainly because my power steering lines decided to puke half the reservoir, for apparently no reason, the other day

every autocross car i've driven (excluding mod cars) that was without p/s was a pita to drive. the steering ratio was either way to slow or fast enough but way too heavy. either way they weren't enjoyable to drive. it's not worth the 3hp gain.

I went from driving my 00 si(w/ power steering) in STS to my 89 si(w/o power steering) in STS. It was difficult at first because the 00 si has a very light feeling in the wheel and the 89 requires more effort. However, after getting used to the car and the steering I REALLY like no power steering. Its not hard at all anymore and makes you have to be smooth with steering efforts making yourself a better driving IMO. Its not really that much harder, but you just have to get a lot quicker with shuffle steering.

thanks for the info...i was hoping someone else had experienced what i was looking for. i know at first it will be rather difficult to adapt to. i do realize that power steering, as easy as inputs can be, do create some mistakes....ie plowing through u-turns.....i do realize chi-boxes etc will require quick hands, but i do value the feedback from non-powersteering....thanks for the info....todd

just dont think that you won't go plowing thru turns without power steering. I still do that sometimes. I usually go over the limit to find where its at and then back off from there. I destroy quite a few cones in the process.

after driving 00si witp ps, 96 integra w/ deleted ps and my 91 civic w/o ps i'd say no power steering is where its at. the si didnt have the feel that the ps-less cars did. i think you will like it. everyone seems to.
