CRX rally car update:
Well it's been about 90% done to street drivable...and about 70% done towards rallying...but I need a few things yet for it that I've been debating about.
Q: What should I do for a hood?! I've been looking at a used one from a junkyard but most are total crap/rusted/dented bad. Any thoughts on a cheap CF or Fiberglass vented one? Used/new?
All I have left to do is the hood, 1 gas tank support bolt, another oil change, and to put in intake back on her to drive perfectly (and she does run great too!). I've also got a turbo and IC waiting for the summer but we'll see how far I get on the roll cage first and foremost.
Done so far:
-interior all stripped except door panels and dash, painted flat black.
-Integra fuel pump.
-Valve cover sand blasted and grinded the honda name off for the hell of it.
-new cap/rotor.
-2 minor rust spots filled.
-ceramic pads
-new rotors/drums (opted to not do the conversion as I don't need it)
-battery relocated
-extra brackets and crap removed from engine bay for weight reduction
-clear corners/blinkers (ricer mod-only because a friend had them laying around and I needed new ones anyways lol)
-new alternator/belts
-new battery
-fuel filter/oil filter/tune up junk etc.
-skid plate/s (in process of making now)
Looking to sell:
+ most interior pieces in good shape (only 88k miles and chillin)
+ stock CRX Si seats, great shape with 1 minor tear about 1-2" long in drivers seat along seam, can be fixed by me or you very easily.
Looking to buy:
+ used hood
+ used short throw
+ steering wheel
+ used NON-adjustable rally applicable seats (like Sparco EVO/2)

for the hood, just pick up a hood that's straight on the edge and cut out the middle and fill with fiberglass and a vent if you want. I've seen a few people with no fiberglass experience make clean light hoods their first time. It's lighter and cheap

We (me and my roomate) were thinking about doing that...I was going to use my extra WRX hoodscoop up top for a TMIC but decided a FMIC was prob best...
He's also done a bit of fiberglass work, as well as 2 others who do CF work all the time...I think I will do that! Thanks for the input! Also: The CRX hood I thought was 2" shorter than the same year/body style Civic, is that only the 4 door that has a longer hood? Or is it an optical illusion and I can swap hoods!?
Thanks again (searching for more info right now)
