Default Real mugen?

My good friend picked up a type-r and was parting it out, now he has a couple parts left over including a mugen shift boot. Well I searched on the topic and seems that there are 1000x more fake ones then real ones floating around, bottom line, how do I know if its real? Anyone know how to tell the difference? TIA

sheet, does mugen make a shift boot? My friend is just going on the basis that one of his friends said "whoa a REAL mugen boot" I just thought since he's selling it for 50 thought I might be able to re-sell it for some extra cash for my hondata piggy bank...but yeah I've looked on ebay and everyone swears "real" and those are only like 50....arg, he's sending pics to me later today

Alot of people think they're real, because Inline4 used to sell them. They're fake. Just a Mugen patch stitched onto a suede or pleather boot.

There is no such thing as a Mugen Shift boot. I was going to buy the same shift boot you guys are talking about. Before i was about to, i called Kingmotorsports just to verify. They said that mugen doesn't make a shift boot.

Was that wrong? I mean you can't make a fake of something that doesn't exist right? Just some cheap HK rip-off stuff.

Uh no. FAKE doesn't mean based off a real thing. Fake means not real. KNOCK off means it's based off a real thing. but keep it anyway I say because at least those boots are more rare than than the tenzomugen valve covers..

I don't know, if you look on ebay, there's fake Spoon tissue boxes, and Mugen pillows, etc, if it has the name, people will buy it.

yes you can, its like when you see people printing tommy Hilfiger on t-shirts and a hanes tag inside of it. Its fake because Mugen doesn't and has never made one.
