Just bought a 2000 929rr.
Hey guys, I just bought a 2000 CBR 929RR. I've ridden before, mostly a Ninja ZX7R. I'm a little worried about the power of the 929. If anyone has a 929 and knows of some things I should be careful of, please feel free to post. I am a newer rider, but I wasn't about to get a smaller bike to start out on. I fell in love with this one and the rest is history. I'm not a mad man. I know if I use my head, I'll be fine, but I've heard people say that the 929 "comes up" and "gets loose" at times. Any info would be great. Thanks .

Naw...its not like its ridiculously over powered or anything depending on the year of ZX-7 chances are its not going to be ALOT differnt power wise...its not going to jump into a wheelie in 3rd or anything....if you drive smart like you say you'll be fine.
Power delivery is smooth enough, just watch out when running hard on slick surfaces. Most problems come on corner exit when traction is slightly limited or the rider get's a bit greedy and the power bump slides it loose. Be sure you are prepared mentally to deal w/ that. I forget where the dip is on a 929 though
Thanks guys. I also heard that a stearing dampener would help. Will it make it better or is it not that big a deal? I'd hate to spend the money and have it not help that much. Oh and the ZX7R was a 2001. Man, I want to take the 929 out so bad, but the snow in Wisconsin keeps coming. Thanks again guys, all I can do is talk about the bike till spring, so it's cool to get your feedback.
