Engine light after installing intake for ep3
I installed AEM short ram intake today and afterwards the engine light came on. I'm guessing it's because the IT is not hooked up, since I have no where to plug it in to. Any suggestions? Or do I have to drive with the engine light on?

I forgot about that part
Do the idle learning procedure also, basically cut everything off and close the doors, no radio, no a.c., no nothing, on and let her idle for like 10-15 minutes...
Then drive it like you stole it

There should be a hole on the intake for the sensor to plug in. Are you sure you got an intake system for the EP3?
To reset your ECU, disconnect your battery (negative) for 10 sec. then reconnect it.
Be sure to also have your radio code handy.

even if you reset the ecu (which you have to do anyways) you still have an intake temp sensor out in the open.......so i say, get another intake or drill a hole for the sensor
thats my $.02

But he should'nt have to drill. The intake should have a hole in it, assuming it is the correct one for his car.

well the AEM package indicates it's made for 2002-2003 Civic Si. I am missing a rubber grummet that should've come with the package. Does that have anything to do with the Intake Temp. Sensor?

The hole should be about the size of a quarter and just about the middle of the intake.
Also, so you dont erase your radio settings, just take out the 15 ecu fuse for a few minutes.
The fuse box is located in your engine bay by your drivers side headlight.
Since this was the only pic that I had handy, dont mind the circle as it was used for something else.
Just so you get an idea where to look, mine was located at the bottom line of that red circle you see on the pic.

If its not there, call the place where you bought it and call Aem if needed.

when i had my AEM CAI i had to cut the rubber piece a little in order to make it fit on the hole for the sensor. so if you think you had the wrong rubber part, just cut it a little bit and make it fit.
Well for the mean time until you get the rubber grummet, use electrical tape and wrap it around the sensor, leaving it the same thickness as the hole in the intake.
NOTE: Make sure you dont leave the tape too far in the intake, you dont want it being sucked up.

The IAT sensor has two small prongs sticking out of it which I'm guessing must plug into the intake pipe. Even if I plug the sensor into the tube with rubber grommet, will it still work. I'm just trying to get my engine light to go off.
Thanks for the advices, JP

Find a way to get a grommet for the sensor. I didn't see my grommet when my SRI came in. I ended up finding it underneath all the packing peanuts. My CEL is still on though. It's too hot in the engine bay.
so I tried installing my sensor into the intake today and decided there is no freakin' way I can fit my IAT sensor into that little hole. I mean do I have to cut the sensor out of the OEM tube to fit it into the AEM intake or what? Should I just return it? I called and left a message with AEM, but they're not calling me back. Am I better off with another brand? Injen?
