Kicking around the idea of selling my '91 Sentra SE-R (again). Just can't muster any excitement at racing it this year.
If anybody is seriously interested, let me know.
The lowdown:
'91 SE-R built to SCCA Improved Touring specs (ITS). Of course, it would make a great SE-R Cup car!
Suspension:
Truechoice/Koni coilovers (single adjustable), Eibach ERS springs -- 450 front, 300 rear, Ground Control camber plates, N-Tech adjustable rear sway bar, Energy Suspension bushing all around.
Drivetrain:
Quaife limited slip (try and buy a new one now
), Jim Wolf Technology clutch, stock flywheel (per the SCCA rules), transmission rebuilt in '02 (shifts like butter!).
Power:
Hotshot header, JWT pop charger, JWT ECU ("street" program), engine built to IT specs (see below).
Other:
Custom welded cage, 14X7 Panasport Lites (2 sets), 2 Hoosiers (used one weekend) and various Kumhos, Techtom MDM-100N, Summit gauge cluster (oil pressure, oil and water temps), Accusump, Autometer tach with shift light, Corbeau seat, Autopower harness, Stanza water pump pulley. Car weighs 2375 w/o driver (still has some sound deadening, ABS stuff among other areas to shed weight).
Extras:
Original motor, long block, stock wheels, and maybe a few other odds and ends I can dig up.
Once was bad but is now fixed:
The car got a little banged up in 2002 -- see pics here. However, the damage was fixed earlier last year by a guy who works as a bodyman at a Nissan dealership. He basically popped off all the seam welds and melded it with the back half of a Sentra E -- if I didn't tell you this, you probably would not even know by looking at it! The guy did a fabulous job, and I don't think there's a bit of bondo in the car (it's now a true hardtop as the original filled-in sunroof is gone)! See most recent pics taken this summer. I even raced it twice after the work was done, and there were zero problems.
The questionable:
Engine professionally built to IT specs (have all the receipts), but ... um .... uh ... It has never felt "right" going by the SOTP dyno. I also discovered fried spark plugs on the # 1 and 3 cylinders in 2002, and the compression #s are funky (185-190-181-200). But it runs, drives and idles fine and has zero overheating problems. There are maybe 2,000 miles on the engine (I'd have to double check though). I bought a shortblock as a spare hoping to just change the bearings and swap the block out with the one in the car.
Not sure what to ask for it ... probably anything in the range of $5K-6K is a good start. Located north of D.C./south of Baltimore. If you're interested, e-mail me at patred @ xecu.net or call me at 410-768-1012.
$4,500 you get the car, OE wheels, 1 set of Panasports and no Techtom or any extras.
$6,500 you get the whole enchilada.

I think I heard a joke about something like that once. He still needed a ride to work.
Or maybe it was the fact that the guy owned 6 Tauruses that WAS the joke...
Either way, the story was pure bull.

Nah, I think that really is the blue car. I think the grey car was DOA somewhere else when that pic was taken.
Back on topic, I wouldn't trade a 6-er of Guinness for a ragged out ITR.

Sooo, I haven't received any serious inquiries about my car in 24 hours, but this "91 Sentra SE-R" contraption on eBay is already up to $5,100 with 4 days left?! If only I could bring myself to tuck some 18's ...
