this is really bugging me. I cant stop thinking about this damn problem. I tried hooking up the remote start that came with my alarm....that was a bigg no no. Now my damn fuel pump wont start up. I took the alarm all off and still no dice. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didnt touch the fuel pump wiring tho. I tested the bank angle sensor too, and thats fine. Is it a chance the fuel pump went out or the actual ecm is bad now? How would i know what to buy.
Can you give it gas manually and start it as if it was carb'd? Might have to take it in and get it looked at, you dont see too many problems with bikes what kind of bike is this? year make and model?
Can you start it manually?? give it some gas while your cranking the starter, if nothing then it could be fuel pump, otherwise i would have to say take it in..
edit :thats a preatty new bike to be having problems with...are you original owner?

start it manually? No fuel is getting in cause i smell no fuel and dont hear the fuel pump sound anymore. I 'm not getting voltage outta the pink wire coming off the ignition switch (V wire?). So i think i blew the ecu. I dont want to just buy a ecu and see if that works tho, i want to make sure that is the problem.

I have yet to really ride my R6, but i noticed the fuel pump doesnt go on when its been primed enough. So if it has enough pressure from tryting to turn it on you may not need it to prime.
Dont know what your problem is try Sportbikes.net many more members or a F4i specific site. Good luck

Ok, grab a dmm and run some voltage drops. First get an open reading across the battery, unloaded. Then run one from the battery to the ign switch. Then one from yoru ign swi to control feed of the pump relay. Then from source to power feed of the actual pump. Then from pump to ground. Let me know

thanks, i will try that. I did hook the fuel pump up to a 12+v source and got it to turn on, but the motor still wouldnt start up. I didnt smell any fuel either..just heard the fuel pump whining.

battery - 17.90 v
battery to ignition switch - 17.89v
no volts in fuel pump
as for the fuel pump relay. I didnt know where that was.
Pretty much gave up now...dont want to work on it anymore.
This is y i sold my car. Anyways, gonna take it to a shop. Hopefully it wont be more than a couple hundred bucks.
thanks for the help

Ok this is weird now. I'm getting only 12.4 v outta the ignition switch(straight to battery wire) and 17.8v outta the wire on the ignition switch that goes to ignition... shouldnt this be opposite? and i'm also not getting any voltage out of the pink wire off the ignition switch. I think this is the wire that turns on the fuel pump. Its weird tho cause when i add a 12v source to the wire so it will get power the fuel pump still doesnt turn on. Does the pink wire have to have a certain voltage for it to work properly and turn the fuel pump on?

hehe, the actually alarm was really easy to install. Had it installed in an hour and all working. Then that remote start just screwed everything up (time wise and bike). If i just didnt mess with that i would have a running bike with alarm(free of charge).
but anyways, i narrowed down the problem to being the subfuse. I just cant find where the 2 subfuses are.
I got to this because i tested the fuel pump terminals and got no voltage. The manual says that if there is no voltage: check ecm, main fuse(checked), engine cut off switch(works), fuel cut off relay(checked), engine cutoff relay(checked), bank angle sensor(didnt get voltage from this either; diagram shows subfuse going to this also), and subfuse.
IT has to be the subfuse...it just has to be.
Dying to check it now, but too cold and dark in the garage right now...will have to wait til tomo.

hey tony,
do u know where the subfuses are located? I tried everywhere to find them and still no luck.
EDIT: nevermind, subfuses are the fuses in the fuse box.

. But anyways, i concluded that i fried my ecu. Ordering one off ebay. I'll update.
thanks for the help

See if you have power going to the fuel pump. Check all your fuses too and your main fuse should be right under the seat.
EDIT: should scroll down more before replying.

haha, yea i checked to see if the fuel pump was getting any power. It was getting none, so i narrowed it down from the manual to being the ecm. I checked all fuses and relays already like 3 times.

warranty? haha, no warranty here. Bought the bike used with no warranty, not a very smart idea, i know. Alarm has all been taken off though. Sending it back tomo.
